Description
According to figures published by the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), 1 in 5 people in the UK have hearing loss, that’s around 12 million deaf people, a significant figure. By 2035 it is estimated that there will be 14.2 million adults in the UK with hearing loss. There are also 50,000 deaf children at this time.
This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to better understand and provide assistance to those with hearing loss.
It is important to always remember that people with hearing loss are different from other people you encounter in only one small area – communication. Deaf people are to be found everywhere and involved in almost every kind of job and professional career.
