Description
Making practical and thoughtful decisions through problem solving is a great tool to have when working in an organisation. It is a key skill that many employers look for as it demonstrates practicality, creativity and good communication skills. There can be many barriers, however, to making decisions and resolving issues such as delaying tactics and procrastination, choosing from too many options or not having enough information or resources to make an informed decision. This online course is designed to help you identify key models used to enhance decision-making as well as looking at strategies for problem solving as a team.
In this course, we will explore essential strategies for problem-solving and decision-making. By the end of the course, you will be able to identify the three types of decisions and their suitability for various situations, gather information efficiently for quicker problem resolution, and understand the four learner styles that contribute to effective problem-solving. You will learn to apply a three-step model for addressing problems, utilise the ‘6 Thinking Hats’ framework to enhance team collaboration, and conduct a cost/benefit analysis while setting decision-making criteria. Additionally, we will emphasise the importance of brainstorming sessions for fostering creativity and generating innovative solutions.
This course is approximately 30 minutes and is separated into 4 modules, the last of which is a quiz in which you must achieve a score of 80% or more to pass.
