Description
Prevent is the Government’s strategy to stop people becoming involved in violent extremism or supporting terrorism. Channel is an early intervention multi-agency process designed to safeguard vulnerable people being drawn into violent extremist or terrorist behaviour.
In this online course you will explore radicalisation and how it connects with extremism and terrorism. You will consider how the internet can influence and indoctrinate vulnerable people. You will look at the Government’s increased powers, and who they affect. This includes the CONTEST strategy which sets out the main aims, with the individual Prevent and Channel duties covering how to deal with radicalisation in the workplace.
You will also learn the range of threats we face, what makes people vulnerable and how to report concerns.
