This awareness online course gives an insightful overview to eating disorders. It describes the physical and psychological symptoms of anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder, and the possible causes of these mental illnesses. The course explains how carers and families can help when they suspect someone may have an eating disorder and what treatments are currently available.
This course is split into three modules:

• What are the Signs and Symptoms
• What to do if you have a Concern

Learning objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Explain who might develop an eating disorder
- Describe behavioural and physical signs that a person has an eating disorder
- Explain why early diagnosis and treatment are important
- Give examples of what to say and what to do when you think someone might have an eating disorder
