- Individuals not currently teaching or training

- Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification providing an introduction to teaching. It gives learners the opportunity to
- Develop knowledge related to teaching and learning
- Develop skills in teaching and learning
- Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification
- Develop their own personal growth and engagement in teaching and learning.
Course Duration
This course runs over 1 week, and most students choose to access the course in the evenings and over the weekend. Students are required to be 19+.
Course Assessments
Students are required to complete 3 assessments, contribute to online discussion topics, deliver a 15 minute micro-teach session at the end of the week, as well as observe and give feedback on another micro-teach session. Micro-teach sessions are held on the final day of the course, and students must be available to present their micro teach either face to face or via Skype.
It is more structured than other online courses, and there is dedicated tutor support and guidance throughout the week. This ensures everyone has completed their assignments and are ready to present their micro teach sessions to the group – either face to face, or via Skype.
Micro-Teach Sessions
A micro-teach session is a short lesson that is delivered either in person or via Skype to a group of peers. It is a 15 minute lesson which is structured and needs to be approved by your tutor. We recommend that it is based on a hobby or interest rather than your usual training subject.
