All staff require basic health and safety training, as above, however more specific training, e.g. working at height, should be decided upon by assessing the risks of a job and deciding if the risks can be controlled by providing training.

Employers are responsible for all workers, including contractors or self-employed individuals who carry out work for them. The law requires employers to consider, and then deal with, any health and safety risks for people working alone.
