Financial crime remains a significant risk for organisations, individuals and society. Criminals may use legitimate businesses, financial systems, assets, transactions and structures to hide criminal property, fund terrorism or support proliferation activity.
The course will explain the difference between money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing, the three stages of money laundering, the role of customer due diligence, the risks linked to tax evasion, and the importance of following internal reporting procedures.
It includes Jersey and Guernsey considerations, recognising that local requirements, regulators and reporting routes may differ between jurisdictions.
