Description
5 June is World Environment Day every year.
Everything we do contributes to the carbon footprint we leave on the planet. The planet is gradually getting hotter, causing the climate to rapidly change. By striving for a smaller carbon footprint, we can reduce the number of harmful greenhouse gases and slow the warming of the planet we call home.
Who is this Environmental Awareness online course for?
This course has been developed to give learners an awareness of the environmental impact their individual behaviour has, as well as promote reducing the learner’s carbon footprint in their everyday life.
As individuals, we can make a positive impact by changing our own behaviour. For example:
- Being water smart
- Being efficient with air conditioning and heating
- Using energy-efficient lighting
- Knowing how and what we recycle
- Reducing your food footprint
By encouraging the organisations we work for to be more environmentally and socially conscious by replicating some of these initiatives in the workplace, we can really make a difference. For example:
- Leasing offices in highly energy-efficiency buildings
- Going paperless
- Reducing air travel in favour of remote working solutions
Learning objectives
This online course has been produced for individuals in their daily lives and employers looking to champion their corporate social responsibility impact. By the end of the course you will understand:
- How we contribute to our carbon footprint
- Energy efficiency at home
- Reducing, reusing, recycling
- Eating and drinking smart
- Corporate social responsibility
