Course Overview

Learners develop an understanding of the checks and practices they can implement themselves to prevent falling victim to phishing. This is achieved through a combination of case studies and interactivities. Phishing attacks try to exploit users via email, social media, phone and the web. All these avenues of attack are discussed.

The Phishing Awareness course finishes by reinforcing key cybersecurity best practices such as strong passwords, using security software and updating software regularly.

• Describe what phishing is and why it is essential that you remain vigilant to the threat at all times.
• Know how to recognise if an email, a website, social media, a phone call  and text message is a phishing attack.
• Understand how to prevent phishing attacks and what to do should you fall victim to one.
