A key part of a business administrator’s role is to support staff who need to travel, covering all aspects of travel within the trip, following the organisational policy and procedure within an agreed budget.

the aim of this unit is for you to learn how to organise travel and accommodation, within budget, for staff within the organisation.  You will understand budget and procedural constraints, ensuring that all arrangements made are communicated to the staff that are travelling, and that any travel documentation required are obtained in a timely manner.  You will consider different types of travel suppliers, making recommendations on the best way for staff to travel to their destination.

This  Level 2 course, from the Business Administration Level 2 suite of online courses, is mapped to UK National Occupational Standards BUS28, D/506/1875.

  • Explain the organisation’s budgetary, policy and financial procedures in relation to arranging business travel and the requirements relating to visas, documentation and processes for obtaining or exchanging foreign currency
  • Understand how to identify and recommend different suppliers capable of delivering travel and accommodation services within budget that best meet the requirements of the organisation
  • Describe how to prepare and issue relevant documentation, confirm payments, keep up to date records and adhere to organisational policies, legal and ethical requirements when making business travel or accommodation arrangements.
