Course Overview
This Missing From Care online course has been accredited the Badge of Excellence by Open Awards. It aims to raise awareness of the risks associated with going missing from care and highlight the learners role in prevention and incident management.
Learning Objectives
During this Missing From Care course you will;
- Explain the difference between the terms ‘missing from care’ and ‘away from placement without authorisation’
- Identify possible reasons for going missing from care
- Identify the risks of going missing
- Identify signs that could indicate a Children and Young Person (CYP) may go missing
- Identify factors that could trigger a missing episode
- Explain their role before, during and after a missing incident
Course Audience
Residential Care Worker, Health Care Workers, Social Care Workers, Children’s Centre Practitioners.
Course Duration
This course will take a minimum of 45 minutes to complete.
Foundation Level
This Foundation Level online course provides learners with an awareness and understanding of the subject, and provides practical skills and advice to enable learners to undertake and understand the subject at a basic entry level. The course is designed for people who are new to this sector and who are gaining an insight and introduction to the course subject.
Skills for Care
This online course is from a Skills for Care Endorsed Provider for e-Learning. Skills for Care is the employer-led strategic body for workforce development in social care for adults in England.
