Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)
This qualifications consist of learning outcomes and assessment criteria from the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at level 3. Each qualification awards QCF Credits. One credit equals approximately 10 hours of learning. This is a combination of contact time with your trainer/assessor, and non-contact time for you own study.

Unit 01 – Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits)
Optional Units (6 credits required from Group B and 3 credits from Group):
Unit 02 – Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
Unit 03 – Facilitate learning and development for individuals (6 credits)
Unit 04 – Facilitate learning and development in groups (6 credits)
Unit 05 – Understanding assessment in education and training (3 credits)
Unit 06 – Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (3 credits)
The course is mainly theoretical and is assessed with three assignments, plus one micro teaching session of around 30-45 minutes. The teaching session is recorded and sent to your tutor for assessment.
The online course is completed entirely at your own pace however, we do have the option of fast track available. This route has proven popular with those already in employment and wishing to progress quickly.
Each learner is required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates that all learning outcomes have been met.
Learners will be assessed and mentored by an experienced and highly qualified trainer. They will assist learners to assemble their portfolio and prepare for assessment. In addition the learners will have access to a range of learning materials; webinars; email and telephone support throughout their programme together with resources as required.
Do I have to be currently teaching? No, the course is ideal for those wishing to become a teacher or are starting out in a teaching career.
This qualification is open to candidates aged 19 or over, of either gender and there are no entry barriers on the grounds of race, creed or academic attainment in learning. There are not any specific prior learning requirements for these qualifications though learners may find it helpful if they have achieved a level 2 qualification.
