The employer is required to provide all new employees with training on how to work safely, which should include first aid, and fire safety and evacuation ensuring that they know how to work safely and without risks to health. This will include all aspects of the organisations health and safety policy and training on any specific aspects of their job role where their safety or the safety of others may be at risk.

All staff require basic health and safety training, as above, however more specific training, e.g. working at height, should be decided upon by assessing the risks of a job and deciding if the risks can be controlled by providing training.
