On successful completion of this course, users will be able to define “Cybercrime” and know never to disclose passwords or open suspicious email attachments. They will know not to install unauthorised applications and to lock their devices when they are not actively using them.
Cybercrime is becoming more sophisticated every day. With technological advances and the increase in the use of mobile devices, the risk of cyber attacks are a very real, global problem.
The different types of Cybercrime are explained in this course. These include Viruses, Worms, Adware, Spyware and Trojan. Being aware of Social Engineering and the tactics criminals use to trick users into providing access or personal information will help employees understand that basic safety checks, safe use of the web and of mobile phones are fundamental in staying safe online. Users will understand the importance of Virus checks, secure passwords, user accounts and browser safety. Additionally, the safe use of devices in public areas is also discussed.
