Course Overview
This Alcohol Awareness online course has been accredited the Badge of Excellence by Open Awards. It aims to raise awareness of the effects of alcohol on children and young people (CYP) and highlight the learners role in prevention and incident management. This module will enable you to talk to CYP about alcohol and positively influence the decisions they make.
Learning Objectives
This Alcohol Awareness online training session will help support staff to;
- recognise when somebody is drunk and what to do if they are
- identify the short and long term effects of alcohol
- deal with an alcohol related incident in the home
- talk to a child or young person about alcohol related issues
- recognise changes in behaviour that could point towards a drinking habit
Course Audience
Health Care Workers, Social Care Workers, Children’s Centre Practitioners, Youth Workers, Education Workers.
Course Duration
This course will take a minimum of 45 minutes to complete.
Foundation Level
This Foundation Level online course provides learners with an awareness and understanding of the subject, and provides practical skills and advice to enable learners to undertake and understand the subject at a basic entry level. The course is designed for people who are new to this sector and who are gaining an insight and introduction to the course subject.
Skills for Care
This online course is from a Skills for Care Endorsed Provider for e-Learning. Skills for Care is the employer-led strategic body for workforce development in social care for adults in England.

- Site Licence – a licence to install one course, or one or more bundles of courses on your own learning management system. The site licence consists of a number of enrolments to use on any course for any learner in the bundle;
